Work through existing findings.
Make sense of a scan report or an existing security review. Discuss the relevant evidence, priority actions, dependencies, and the questions to put to your IT provider.
Cybersecurity Consulting
Get a second perspective on the security question in front of you. We help you evaluate existing findings, weigh improvements, and agree on practical next steps with the people who manage your systems.
When advice is the right starting point
Bring the information you already have. We’ll identify what it supports, what still needs confirmation, and the decision you need to make.
Make sense of a scan report or an existing security review. Discuss the relevant evidence, priority actions, dependencies, and the questions to put to your IT provider.
Consider who needs access, how sign-in protection should be introduced, and what the implementation owner needs to confirm before changing business systems.
Review proposed security work in the context of your operations and budget. Document the recommended sequence, responsibilities, and assumptions behind the plan.
Focused consulting
The starting engagement addresses one agreed security question using the documents and information you provide.
Up to four hours total, including meetings, preparation, review, and writing. If answering the question requires new technical checks or a broader engagement, we agree on that scope and price first.
An example of the planning approach
A combined engagement adds a roadmap and follow-up consulting to the assessment. This excerpt shows how a few findings might become an action register.
Illustrative example only. Fictional information. These actions have not been performed for a client and are not instructions to change your systems.
| Priority action | Owner to confirm | Planning window | Evidence to request |
|---|---|---|---|
| Confirm administrator sign-in protection | Authorized Microsoft 365 administrator | First 30 days | Applied policy and a controlled sign-in test, with recovery access confirmed |
| Address overdue workstation updates | Client IT provider | Agreed maintenance window | Updated device status and checks of affected business applications |
| Plan a representative recovery test | Client backup owner and IT provider | Within the 90-day roadmap | A separately authorized test plan and a record of the eventual result |
Owners and target windows are agreed with the client. Progress discussions distinguish reported updates from evidence reviewed. Live testing, rescans, and implementation need a separate scope.
Assessment & Improvement Plan
The combined plan starts at $3,000. It includes the assessment’s report and results meeting, a 90-day roadmap for up to five priority actions, and up to six additional advisory hours.
Follow-up includes two 45-minute working sessions and one 30-minute progress check-in within 60 days of the results meeting. Your quote confirms the calendar and covered work.
Working together
Business owners, IT providers, and internal teams can bring a defined question.
Yes, if you are authorized to share it. We can review the supplied findings and evidence as consulting input. That does not independently verify the state of live systems; new technical checks need an agreed assessment scope.
Any implementation or technical retesting is a separately scoped, authorized engagement. Your own team or IT provider can act on the recommendations.
Yes. We can help sequence agreed improvements, document responsibilities, and define evidence to request. Where useful and agreed, recommendations can be organized using the NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0. This is not a compliance certification or formal audit.
Yes, through a separate quote for further consulting or ongoing advisory. The agreement defines the advisory time, scheduled meetings, reporting, and included reviews.
